McEntee's Tea are mentioned on Ireland AM - National Morning Television!

We're delighted to have our McEntee's Tea mentioned on Ireland AM this week. Food writer Dee Laffin gave an overview of Award Winning food products during her feature on RTE Ireland am team.

Great to see some of our fellow  Boyne Valley Flavours products on the piece and to have Neighbourfood markets to get a mention too as we have our products on sale in both Blackrock, Dundalk and  Rock Farm, Slane.

The joys of composting with McEntee’s loose Tea mulch

The joys of composting with McEntee’s loose Tea mulch

We thought we’d take a moment to give a shout out for an environmentally friendly thing we do with our used tea leaves: compost! Here’s a four step summary…

      1. Brew yourself a delicious tasting cup of award winning McEntee’s tea.
      2. When cleaning your teapot remove the tea leaf mulch and place into your composting bin.
      3. Dig your mature compost into your weeded vegetable patch in the spring and plant out your young vegetable plants.
      4. Harvest your vegetables in the Autumn. A rewarding and cost effective lunch to again enjoy with family!

      — Helen McEntee, Owner & Director

McEntee’s Fine Teas is a family business run by married couple, Donal and Helen McEntee in Co. Louth. With a unique mix of experience and backgrounds Donal and Helen, both passionate tea drinkers, brought together the idea of McEntee’s Tea from their office on the family farm in Charlestown, Co. Louth. They are proud of their progress since launching their McEntee’s Tea brand in 2018 with 4 Blas Irish Food Awards and two Great Taste Gold Star Awards they are looking forward to developing the availability of their teas across Ireland and to the UK, European and the US.

McEntee’s Tea are aware of the growing desire for a better quality cup of tea and the pleasure in sitting down around a pot of Tea with friends and family and enjoying the moment. People are also increasingly conscious of the environmental benefits of not using tea bags due to the microplastics found in them, another factor that has added to the growth in loose leaf tea. They believe that the increasing numbers returning to loose leaf tea is a sign of this trend in tea drinking.

All their Teas are available to buy in a number of Shops and catering outlets locally, such as Gerry Fresh Foods, Supervalu across the North East, Coffeebox, Stockwell Foods, Bio Coffee Café, and at www.mcenteestea.ie and we are interested in finding more stockists, contact McEntee’s Tea  for more information.
